Dear Music Lovers and Supporters,
This week’s musical offering is the 3rd, and last, Movement (Allegretto non troppo – Allegro molto vivace) of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto (1844). The music was composed by Felix Mendelssohn. The violin soloist is Samuele Parrini. The recording is from a concert by the BSO in October 2018 and is on YouTube: BSO plays Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, 3rd Movement.
About the music, Maestro Fred Devyatkin writes, “The Finale of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, performed by then 18-year old violinist Samuele Parrini and the BSO, from a concert in October 2018. A technical and musical tour de force, the Mendelssohn provides virtuoso passagework and profound musical content simultaneously, making one of the staples of the repertoire. Mr. Parrini was sponsored by the Prodigy Project. Enjoy!!”
Thank you to everyone who has and continues to donate to the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra.
Sincerely,
Entire BSO Board & Musicians
