Dear Music Lovers and Supporters,
The next concert of the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra will be “Hello to Hollywood” on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 5:00 pm at the USCB Center for the Arts. We are excited to bring you movie soundtrack music. At first you may wonder, will I hear any classical artists on October 8? Of course, many directors use classical pieces in their films!
For example, our concert repertoire includes movie music from the classical composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Pietro Mascagni and Samuel Barber:
- Amadeus — Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 25 in G minor, K. 183: Movement 1, Allegro con brio
- The King's Speech — Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92: Movement 2, Allegretto
- Raging Bull — Intermezzo from the opera “Cavalleria rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni
- Platoon — Samuel Barber, Adagio for Strings in B-flat minor
- West Side Story — Leonard Bernstein/Mason
- Star Wars (Empire Strikes Back) — John Williams/Whitney
- Gladiator — Hans Zimmer/Wasson
- Pirates of the Caribbean — Klaus Badelt/Ricketts
