This week’s musical offering is More. The music was composed by Riz Ortolani and Nino Oliviero for the 1962 Italian film Mondo Cane. The recording is from a concert by the BSO in March 2017 and is on YouTube: BSO plays More. This arrangement by Richard Hayman was for Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra.
About the music, Maestro Fred Devyatkin writes, “Originally written by Riz Ortalani and Nino Oliviero as an instrumental for the Italian documentary, Mondo Cane, “More” won a Grammy in 1964 for best instrumental theme. Enjoy!”
